拉姆福德队长是一名在新崔斯特瑞姆区的士兵. 在暴雪嘉年华2008的演示上他是第一个出现的NPC，他在那里迎接新的人物，并且告诉他们新崔斯特瑞姆的严峻形势.在演示中，他有三个不同的对话针对与不同的角色(野蛮人,巫医,魔法师), 他给大家讲述有关神秘的流星，击中了大教堂，唤醒了邪恶，并警告或鼓励玩家去探索。

这表明NPC的对话原理和情节设置并不是那么简单的，NPC和你的角色，知道比你更多的故事。 所以玩家们要了解游戏世界和自己角色的性格，就要认真的看，听和NPC们的对话等。
